Make Working From Home Comfortable

With a lot of people working from home, you may be finding it hard to find the perfect desk set up at home. Or you may always struggle with finding a comfortable set up at work. Read this post to get some tips!

What is the optimal desk set-up?
-
Chair: supportive and comfortable, has a backrest that curves to the natural curves of your back.
- Arms resting on arm rests with elbows bent at 90 degrees
- Shoulders should be relaxed not raised
- Desk height = elbow height
- Wrists in a neutral position
- Head upright and over your shoulders
- Eyes looking slightly downward without bending from the neck
- Feet supported flat on the floor

❓How can I change my set up?
~Start with getting a good chair
change the height of your computer by raising your desk or putting your laptop up on something
~Get a foot rest if your feet do not reach the floor
~Put a mirror in your room so you can self monitor your posture
~Change positions frequently- take breaks from sitting to get up and walk around, do some stretches or exercises
~Create a stand up desk station as well and transition from sitting to standing

❓Can a physio help?
Yes! If you are having trouble creating the optimal desk set up a physiotherapist can help. If you are getting neck, shoulder, back or wrist pain from prolonged posture at your desk, come in and get some treatment from a physio.

If we can help in anyway please contact us. Our physio's are always available to help you get back to feeling yourself as quickly as possible.
